Night Life

Many visitors to Bol choose to spend their evenings relaxing in the bars and restaurants, enjoying the good food and excellent scenery, whilst sampling the locally produced drinks.

Varadero Bar is conveniently located in the central harbour area and provides an excellent location to enjoy a pre-dinner or late night cocktail. During the main season a DJ provides some late night music. The bar also shows important sporting events on its large screen TV. Moby Dick, a late-opening bar also offers DJ driven sounds and is situated above the tourist office at the far end of the harbour.

Places to Visit

In Bol the Branislav Deskovic Gallery is situated on the seafront in a former renaissance town house and contains a good selection of 20th century Croatian art. Near the petrol station and located beneath the school you will find the local winery (open during main season).

The 15th century Dominican monastery is to the east of the main centre and well worth a visit to its museum and gardens which overlook the sea.

There are many unspoilt villages on the island of Brac to explore. Supetar consists of a horseshoe shaped cove on the northern coast and is the largest town on the island. It is very well connected with Split through the direct ferry line (more than 14 trips daily during the summer) and there are frequent bus services to other Bol to Split Catamaranvillages on the island.

Split is one of the Adriatic’s most vibrant cities and the old town and harbour area are well worth a visit.  As well as the places of historical interest there are excellent opportunities for shopping amongst the narrow streets. Split can also be reached by a daily catamaran from Bol.

There are various tours offered by the local travel agencies. Nearby Hvar Island is well worth a visit and you can also visit the islands of Vis, Solta, Korcula or Mljet. Alternatively, you may choose to see more of the mainland where you can visit the national parks to see the famous waterfalls such those at Plitvice Lakes.

Vehicle Hire

Cars are available for hire locally although if you require a car for the duration of your stay you may choose to book your car when you arrange your flight as this can work out cheaper for longer hire periods and will enable you to pick up a hire car from the airport and return it there prior to departure.

Alternatively, scooters are a fun way to explore the island and are available for hire locally.

If you are looking to hire a vehicle you will be required to produce your driving licence.

There are several places along the sea front where it is possible to hire a boat. This is an excellent way to explore the coast and maybe one of the secluded bays not accessible by land.

Bicycle hire is available locally and is reasonably priced and very popular.
